I am from the Dachshund bloodline. My ancestors are also known as Teckels, Dachels, or Dachsels. They originated in Germany. In fact, the name Dachshund is German for “badger dog,”. We were originally bred to hunt badgers. Even though I am domesticated (I hate this word) and abundantly pampered, I will maintain and nurture this innate hunting instinct.
